Happy Birthday Uncle Danny! I love you!!

We hope you enjoy the time with your families, travel safely and remember the real meaning of Christmas.

For us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

We got Kenzie an exersaucer for Christmas, but we gave it to her a little early. Though she is still a little short for it, she enjoys playing in it for short periods of time.

'Tis the Season

I've finally gotten back to blogging regularly. Here's a peak of our Christmas tree and of me kissing on Kenzie. She gets lots and lots of kisses! We are very excited to be able to celebrate her first Christmas with her and introduce her with much of our extended families.

1st Christmas Party

Kenzie got to celebrate her 1st Christmas with Heath's extended family this past weekend. We hosted 25 or so people at our home and enjoyed a great time visiting and enjoying the abundance of food. There was also a gift exchange. Kenzie received an adorable outfit from her great aunt Liz and a crocheted hat from her 2nd cousin Hannah. It's cute!

1st Snow

Kenzie experienced her first snow. We had to capture a quick photo. Heath just loves this hat. Don't you think it's adorable?

We had around 2 inches of snow and the roads got slick pretty quick. Lucky for Kenzie and I we didn't have to get out!

Heath's cousin's wife, Erin, made this sleeping sack for Kenzie. It's amazing. Kenize loves to be swaddled and then put in the sleeping sack. It's a very soft yarn and each morning i find Kenzie's fingers rubbing it! Not to mention the color was a perfect choice! Thanks Erin!

Daddy and Grandma Warren's friends Jerry and Romona made this afghan for Kenzie. It's beautiful pastel blue, pink and white. It too is very soft and Kenzie loves the feel of it. Can't you see it in her face?

Two special little girls, Morganne and Maggie, made this beautiful John Deere pink and brown quilt for Miss K. They entered the quilt at the County Fair and received a purple ribbon on it. After the fair, they presented me with the quilt as a gift for baby K when she arrived. They did a super job on it! Morganne and Maggie's dad is a distant cousin of mine.

Kenzie had her 4 month check-up yesterday. She weighed 13 pounds 13 oz and was 24 inches long. She's right on track both are in the 50th percentile.

Great Grandma Judy made this for Kenzie. It's beautiful! Great Grandma Judy loves to quilt and has made several quilts of many different patterns.

Happy 4 Months Kenzie! You're constantly changing and growing. What a special girl! We love you.

Our friend Tara made this blanket for Kenzie. She does amazing work. She turned this white fleece blanket in to a delicate piece of work. I love the white and lavender! I know it was hard for her to make this as she is a huge KU fan!

Grandpa Dwight's college buddy, Greg gave Kenzie this quilt. It has pretty flowers on it and is a combination of pink and purples. Kenzie can't wait to go to her first KSU football game with Greg and Grandpa!

Kenzie's Great Aunt Faye made this afghan for her. I love the color!

The one pictured here is actually a shaw. It was done by Kenzie's Great Great Grandma White. Kenzie never got to meet her and I only remember a little about her. She passed away when I was young.

This week I'll be showcasing some of the quilts, blankets and afghans that Kenzie received. I'll start with this one. This is a quilt that I made for my little angel while I was expecting. It has several colors in it to match the nursery along with farm animals. The back is a very soft fabric. I tied the quilt when i was finished, just like Grandma Judy had taught me to do growing up. Someday I hope to teach Kenzie.

Happy Birthday

Today my grandpa celebrates his 85th birthday! Happy Birthday (Great) Grandpa from us all!
I remember spending a week each summer with him and my grandma. Though they didn't live too far away it was a great time. Grandpa would teach me how to play different card games while grandma and I worked on plastic canvas crafts. Lunch was always at 11:30 because they watched a soap opera during that time, then the news at 12:00 and then if it was Monday, Wednesday or Friday Grandpa would head out at 12:20, just after the weather, to go play cards with his buddies. This gave me and Grandma more time to work on our craft projects. Oh the memories...

I can't believe that Kenzie is 16 weeks old today. It doesn't seem possible. This weekend I dressed Kenzie in her Christmas pjs to have her photo taken with Santa. She didn't scream and holler like some of the other kids in line. Instead she smiled and just loved the attention. I'm afraid that my time may come next year when she is a little unsure of the man in a red suit!
Kenzie continues to play with her hands and grasp toys. Over the weekend she figured out that Daddy had a good idea when he made our house so open and full of wood....she can squeal and it echos. It was cute for a while, then the ear piercing sounds got to mommy. We can't wait to celebrate Christmas with Kenzie!

Weekend with Cousins

Over the holiday weekend Kenzie got to spend some time with her cousins Chad, Kaylee, Cole and new baby Cason. She loved the attention and they enjoyed loving are here too! Here are a few photos.

1st Thanksgiving

Our 1st Thanksgiving with our little girl! It was a great one.

Happy Thanksgiving from the 3 of us! It truly has been a great year with so much to be thankful for. With the hustle and bustle of the holidays we often overlook Thanksgiving, however I think it is important to take time to thank God for all he has provided for us.

14 weeks

Since Kenzie was born and even before she was born it seems my post always revolve around her! Well this one is no different. Kenzie continues to change each day. Her smiles are more frequent and a lot bigger and a lot of times comes with a laugh now. She lays down to sleep and that's about it. She would rather be sitting up or standing in our laps as we hold her. There's much more to see sitting up. Think about it, how would you like to go through life laying on your back or tummy all the time. I think it'd get pretty boring and she must think the same!
We often catch Kenzie watching the TV. She seems to be more interested if there's football on. It has more action than the news.
This past weekend Kenzie and I (mainly me) put of 2 of our 3 Christmas trees. Kenzie's tree is special as she has ornaments that my grandma made for me while the main tree contains bright green and red balls with a few of Heath and I's family ornaments which are also special. I still have one tree to put up, but I work much slower with Kenzie around.
Thanks to my mom and dad, the lights on the house did get put up as well. I can't wait to turn them on...after Thanksgiving!

Our Church took pictures for the new directory this past week. It was our "first professional" family photo. They caught one good one so needless to say it was the cheapest photo session as we won't be buying any. I decided when we got home I'd try and get a few of Kenzie and her daddy. We'll be having our family photos taken for Christmas soon.

3 months

Miss Kenzie is 3 months old now! Time sure goes by fast. Not a moment goes by without a smile from her. She's beginning to grasp her toys as well. Everything finds it's way to her mouth whether it is her hand, her toys or daddy's hand it all taste so good!

She weighs 12lbs 6oz and is 24 1/4 inches long. It's sad for me to put away those 0-3 clothes, but also exciting to see what awaits in her closet for her to wear next.

Baptism

Kenzie was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church on Sunday by pastor Michael Dunnaway. She did a super job. Her sponsors are Daniel (my brother) and Heidi (Heath's sister).

Puppy Dog, Logan came over for a visit. Logan and Kenzie are quite the pair. Kenzie loves for Logan to hold her and Logan loves to hold baby Kenzie and give her kisses!
