We seem to be adjusting well. We've a couple good nights and a couple rough ones, but overall we have a good baby. With much help we are working on getting Kenzie to recognize the difference between day and night.
Last Thursday at the doctor she weighed 7lbs 9 3/4 oz. We were very pleased with this since her birth weight was 7lbs 7oz. Her bilirubin levels seem to be coming down as well. They are 14 which according to her doctor this is not dangerous.
We are thankful for all the thoughts and prayers everyone has offered.

Our little family the day of Kenzie's arrival. We are truly blessed with a little princess! Check out the hospital's website (www.sabethahospital.com) for another photo.
We've made it home and are adjusting. Thank you for all your thought, prayers, concerns and gifts. We are certainly blessed.

Kenzie Marie

Proud Daddy!
Kenzie Marie arrived Tuesday, August 17th at 4:35am via c-section. Kenzie weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. She has a little black hair and is as cute as can be! We are glad she arrived safely and appears to be healthy. Jennifer is recovering from all the trauma, but is doing well.

Another visit at the doctor's office today certainly made things come into perspective. At 38 1/2 weeks the baby is growing (ahead of schedule) and all vitals sound good. I have another appointment next week so we'll see what that brings!
We are getting pretty excited, anxious and nervous all at the same time.

In the meantime, Heath has been keeping busy helping his cousin on his home, working in the garden and keeping up with the mowing.

I have been working in the house (it's cooler) on cleaning, baking and preserving produce from the garden. I worked up another 6 quarts of sweet corn this past weekend and filled my hunger for homemade chocolate chip cookies too!

This weekend is the annual town celebration so Heath is excited about playing softball. I think I'll find a shade tree for part of the tournament, but mainly in the house for the weekend. It'll be hard for me to stay away, but with the scorching temps, it's probably the best!

Just a few flowers from around our house! I love taking pictures of them, if you couldn't tell!

Fall.....????

Heath harvested the first pumpkin from our garden last night. He's having a growing contest with one of his cousins on who can raise the largest pumpkin from the same pack of seeds. Heath informed me that this wasn't the largest one in the garden! :)

We have been blessed with an abundance of fresh produce this year. I have canned 26 pints of peaches, froze 9 quarts of peaches, canned 9 pints of carrots, canned 10 pints of pasta/pizza sauce and froze numerous quarts of sweet corn. It is truly a blessing to have so much produce that we'll be able to enjoy all year long.

The Countdown Is On...

I've reached the 37 week mark. Time seems to be flying by rather quickly. This weekend Heath and I spent time finishing up some details that we've been wanting to do for a while. I think we're as ready as we can be! I have another doctor's appointment later this week so I'm sure we'll learn more then! We are certainly getting anxious for this little one to arrive.
