Well it's been a while since I have updated...I guess that just shows that we are keeping busy! Here's an update:
Kenzie: I continue to love food, walk and climb all over and talk non stop. Mom and dad can't understand everything I say, but I do say Momma, Dadda, Max, bath, ball, and bye. I also follow most commands such as let's take a bath (my favorite), let's change your diaper, get your shoes, etc. I love looking at the Christmas tree and have done a great job not touching it. I will even pose for a picture in front of it, if you ask me to. I still don't like to sleep in the early morning hours, but I have done better with my "big" bed.
Jennifer: I started my new job and love it! I really like the many different things I do each day and especially love being home at 5pm to enjoy the evenings with Heath and Kenzie. It's also nice to have the weekends free. I have all my Christmas shopping done with just a couple presents to wrap. I hope to start on some baking this week!
Heath: I continue to like my job and the people I work with. I am keeping busy, which is good too. I just finished up deer hunting. I got a deer for meat, but missed seeing a deer to hang on the wall. (Thank goodness~jennifer).
We hope you all are doing well and I'll try to not make it so long between posts!

Today I start my new job! I am very nervous, but happy to be able to spend the evenings and weekends being a mom and wife! I hope Heath and Kenzie can adjust! :) I know it's going to be hard on the grandmas as they won't have to pick her up from daycare as much. I think they are going to miss that time!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Every year we have so much to be thankful for, but this year it seems God has poured his blessings on us.
The year started off rough with mom being diagnosed with Cancer. God then provided us with so much:
safe trips to and from KU Med
successful radiation treatments
strength and good health for mom
strength for all of us
an abundance of volunteers that provided transportation
an outpouring of donations both monetary and with food
Besides the great news of Mom being free from Cancer, God has provided us with many more blessings for us to be thankful for. Today is a day we remember those things, however, each day we should find ourselves not only asking God for prayers, but thanking him daily for these blessings!
Happy Thanksgiving to each one of you!

Family Update
Kenzie: I'm 15 months old today! My hair is finally starting to grow and it's curly just like mommys. I continue to fight sleep at night and only take 1 nap during the day. I love to eat and eat most anything! I whisper "i love you" when someone says it to me. I also wave bye-bye, blow kisses and play well with my toys.
Heath: I just returned from a week-long training and 2 days of hunting out west. I think Kenzie changed a lot while I was gone. I am gearing up for deer season.
Jennifer: I have taken a new job as the Clinic Manager for the local doctor's office. I will begin my new position on the 29th of this month. I am very excited for the new challenge and also that my evenings and weekends will be spent with Heath and Kenzie. I am sad to leave the Extension program, but after many prayers knew this was the path I should take.

Family Update
Heath: Heath just completed his 2nd week at his new job. He transferred to another manufacturing company a little closer to home. He will be designing beds for trucks on the computer. Currently the company has it's drawings on paper so he'll be rather busy transferring them to the computer. He's also getting anxious for hunting season too.
Jennifer: Jennifer let her Social Work License lapse in 2007 as she switched careers, however, after taking 40 CEU's she is now an LBSW again! She's been keeping busy with work and Kenzie!
Kenzie: Kenzie has been showing signs of attachment lately. She tends to hold on to mommy's leg a lot and whines when she leaves the room. She quickly gets relief if Daddy or another familiar face is near by. Lately Kenzie has not wanted to be put back in her crib after she wakes up in the middle of the night. We are struggling to figure out why. Last night we put a full size mattress on her floor and let her sleep on that. When she woke up, she went back to sleep much easier. She may get a room-makeover soon. Kenzie loves to be outside (or look outside, if its too cool).
Family: Jennifer's mom just got a clear report on her MRI. She will go back to see the radiation oncologist, chemo oncologist, neuro surgeon and have CT and MRI in 3 months. We continue to pray for clear, cancer free tests.
God has blessed us all!

We got Kenzie this riding toy for her birthday. She has just recently figured out how to ride it. The seat actually flips over for her to push or pull. She loves pushing it across the wood floors to!
Being outside continues to be one of Kenzie's favorite things to do. She is getting braver on her playground equipment. When she's outside she has to squat down and pat her legs while hollaring for Max. It's cute! Max and her are quite good friends.Tuesday, October 11, 2011

Heath had a pumpkin growing contest with his dad and his cousin this year. When the first pumpkin set on Heath's vines, he was declared the winner. It seems between little hands, cows and the weather, neither Warren or Chance were able to compete! Kenzie is sitting on 1 of the 4 large pumpkins. There is one bigger than this one and some other smaller ones. We're hoping to get them hauled (literally with the tractor) to the porch/front yard in the next few days. We had a frost that killed the vines last weekend.Way to go Daddy!
She now says: mama, dada, bye, moo, and Ma (for Max). If you ask her to go get something (like her baby, ball or book) she'll retrieve it and bring it to you. She claps, shrugs her shoulders and puts her hands up for "I don't know" and waves.
She still enjoys eating as well. She loves peas and bread! Kind of like her mother! :) I haven't found anything that she won't eat.

Busy Weekend
This weekend was a weekend full of fun and activities. We started the weekend off by walking in the local 5K for Cancer. Kenzie and I walked with Grandma K. After the race we went to the local grocery store to see the petting zoo. Kenzie loved the goats and donkeys.
Sunday after church we went to a local pumpkin patch. Kenzie had a blast. She got to pet and feed some more animals (I think we have an animal lover on our hands!), play in the corn bin, ride on a wagon (hooked to a tractor), walk in the corn maze, ride the tricycles, climb on the tire mountain, eat a funnel cake and of course see lots of pumpkins! Stay tuned for our adventures next weekend!

Kenzie's Birthday Party
I am a little slow (ok a lot slow) at getting Kenzie's party pictures posted. Here are a few for you to enjoy. We are blessed to have so much family and great friends to help us celebrate!
We served smoked pork, beans, chips and several salads as well as cupcakes and ice cream.
I still can't believe our little girl is 1!

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY KENZIE!
Our baby girls is 1 today! Time has gone so fast. Each day I thank God for our precious little girl. Kenzie has been a blessing to us.
Kenzie's Stats:
Weight-21 pounds 10 3/4 oz (75th percentile)
Height-30 inches (90th percentile)
Kenzie loves to share her paci with anyone. She continues to walk though a little wobbly still. She realizes that crawling gets her from one place to another much faster. She still has only 2 teeth on the bottom, but 4 on the top. She loves to eat. She'd eat all day long, if we let her.
She likes to read books and dance. She doesn't even need music to dance! :) I think she got her moves from her daddy...
Stay tuned for more pictures of Kenzie's first birthday cake and party.

It didn't take her long to forget about it!
Kenzie sure enjoys eating. You'll notice the cheerios and cracker crumbs on her tray. Those seem to be her favorite snacks. Yum Yum...
