Family Update

Heath: Heath just completed his 2nd week at his new job. He transferred to another manufacturing company a little closer to home. He will be designing beds for trucks on the computer. Currently the company has it's drawings on paper so he'll be rather busy transferring them to the computer. He's also getting anxious for hunting season too.

Jennifer: Jennifer let her Social Work License lapse in 2007 as she switched careers, however, after taking 40 CEU's she is now an LBSW again! She's been keeping busy with work and Kenzie!

Kenzie: Kenzie has been showing signs of attachment lately. She tends to hold on to mommy's leg a lot and whines when she leaves the room. She quickly gets relief if Daddy or another familiar face is near by. Lately Kenzie has not wanted to be put back in her crib after she wakes up in the middle of the night. We are struggling to figure out why. Last night we put a full size mattress on her floor and let her sleep on that. When she woke up, she went back to sleep much easier. She may get a room-makeover soon. Kenzie loves to be outside (or look outside, if its too cool).

Family: Jennifer's mom just got a clear report on her MRI. She will go back to see the radiation oncologist, chemo oncologist, neuro surgeon and have CT and MRI in 3 months. We continue to pray for clear, cancer free tests.

God has blessed us all!

We got Kenzie this riding toy for her birthday. She has just recently figured out how to ride it. The seat actually flips over for her to push or pull. She loves pushing it across the wood floors to!

Being outside continues to be one of Kenzie's favorite things to do. She is getting braver on her playground equipment. When she's outside she has to squat down and pat her legs while hollaring for Max. It's cute! Max and her are quite good friends.

This past weekend we met my college roommate and her family at the zoo in Salina. Kenzie enjoyed the museum with all the "stuffed" animals. We also had a picnic for lunch. Keeping Kenzie in the stroller was a lot more difficult this time. She wanted to be out and walk around. She did great though.

Heath had a pumpkin growing contest with his dad and his cousin this year. When the first pumpkin set on Heath's vines, he was declared the winner. It seems between little hands, cows and the weather, neither Warren or Chance were able to compete! Kenzie is sitting on 1 of the 4 large pumpkins. There is one bigger than this one and some other smaller ones. We're hoping to get them hauled (literally with the tractor) to the porch/front yard in the next few days. We had a frost that killed the vines last weekend.

Way to go Daddy!
Kenzie continues to get around very well. She loves reading books and will bring you a book to read more than a toy to play with. She continues to get more teeth.
She now says: mama, dada, bye, moo, and Ma (for Max). If you ask her to go get something (like her baby, ball or book) she'll retrieve it and bring it to you. She claps, shrugs her shoulders and puts her hands up for "I don't know" and waves.
She still enjoys eating as well. She loves peas and bread! Kind of like her mother! :) I haven't found anything that she won't eat.

Busy Weekend

Our little family!

Daddy and Kenzie feeding the goat.

This weekend was a weekend full of fun and activities. We started the weekend off by walking in the local 5K for Cancer. Kenzie and I walked with Grandma K. After the race we went to the local grocery store to see the petting zoo. Kenzie loved the goats and donkeys.

Sunday after church we went to a local pumpkin patch. Kenzie had a blast. She got to pet and feed some more animals (I think we have an animal lover on our hands!), play in the corn bin, ride on a wagon (hooked to a tractor), walk in the corn maze, ride the tricycles, climb on the tire mountain, eat a funnel cake and of course see lots of pumpkins! Stay tuned for our adventures next weekend!
